Exclusive historic townhouse close to the beach
La Huaca is located in the car-free, picturesque old town of Puerto de Tazacorte - 50 meters away from the largest sandy beach on the island.
Since there are otherwise mainly flats in the beach town, which is not large anyway, La Huaca is a special accommodation as a private holiday home. Holidaymakers who like it sunny, warm and close to the beach and like to have a bit of life right around them usually feel comfortable in Puerto de Tazacorte.
The owner has carefully and stylishly renovated La Huaca for his guests and now it houses a homely gem for two people.
If there are four of you, you can also rent "La Huaca Studio".
A few metres from the house are fish restaurants and other restaurants, all directly on the beach with sea view. The long beach promenade invites you to a relaxed stroll, it leads from the village to the actual harbour, where more restaurants are waiting to be discovered. A small, well-stocked supermarket covers daily needs, and there is also a pharmacy.
If you don't want to rent a car, there is a bus stop 5 minutes away with connections to Los Llanos every 1/2 hour.
The house has 3 floors
The houses in the old town of Puerto de Tazacorte are very narrow, therefore the living situation in La Huaca stretches over several floors.
As the stone stairs in the house are narrow and steep, it is not rented to families with children under 12. The house is also not suitable for people with limited mobility.
The holiday flat Casa La Huaca on the first and second floor (plus roof terrace on the 3rd floor) offers space for two people on approx. 82sqm.
If you would like to come with three or four people, the Studio La Huaca is perfectly suitable to accommodate them. The studio can be rented separately.
Puerto de Tazacorte
Protected by the walls of the Angustia Gorge, Puerto de Tazacorte in the Aridane Valley is not only the warmest and sunniest place on the island, but statistically also in the whole of Europe.
It also has a wide, gently sloping sandy beach, which is also suitable for swimming with children.
Most of the year, bathing weather is guaranteed here, so you can refresh yourself in the sea after the day's excursions or hikes.
The house is located in the tiny traffic-free old town, only a few steps away from the small Plaza Castilla. Right in front of the door, you can experience everyday life in Palm - but you won't find the tourist hustle and bustle of the big Canary Islands here.
A beautiful beach promenade leading to the newly developed harbour invites you to take a leisurely stroll or a morning jog.
In the area of the marina there is a simple snack bar/restaurant/café (open air), an inconspicuous but very good fish restaurant called "El Varadero" and at the end of the marina, hidden away but with an idyllic wooden plank terrace facing the sea, the "Kiosko Adrinere" and "El Balcón del Puerto" with a wonderful view.
Groceries and most daily necessities are available in the small supermarket around the corner. Next to it are a pharmacy, an ice cream shop and a textile shop, as well as two or three bars with snacks. The big restaurants with sea views start at the end of the alley where La Huaca is located.
The bus stop is within easy walking distance. There is a cash machine and further shopping facilities in the main town of "Villa de Tazacorte", a 6-minute drive away.
You enter the house through an antique door made of heartwood
From the house entrance, a narrow stone staircase leads to the first floor, where the spacious bedroom is located.
You can choose between a double bed or two single beds - the bed can be transformed with a flick of the wrist. Next to the bedroom is the bathroom with shower, washbasin, bidet and WC. In another room you will find a washing machine.
One floor up is the open living area with a comfortable leather seating ensemble and beautiful real wood furniture. SAT-TV and a DVD player are available, wifi internet is available throughout the house.
Large pictures with colour-intensive motifs adorn the walls.
A lot of light enters the room through the glazed ceiling, which emphasises the spacious, airy room effect. There is air conditioning, but it is hardly ever needed, as the interior is almost always at a pleasant temperature due to the country's typical construction.
A dining table for four people is set slightly apart by a wall projection. The separate kitchen behind it is well equipped, and there is also a dishwasher. From the kitchen you enter a narrow balcony from which you can see the sea to the side - the place of choice for smokers, smoking is not allowed inside the house.
The roof terrace is on the 3rd floor.
It offers a view of the Caldera de Taburiente, the mountain massif in the centre of the island. On the terrace there are two sun loungers and a table and chairs for four people. A small outdoor kitchen with an electric barbecue and an outdoor shower invite you to live in the open air.
